Fancy Findings: Pin Backs and More!
Sunday, May 20 & Monday, May 21, 2018  /  10:00 am – 4:00 pm


In this workshop, students will learn the basic anatomy of a successful pin back as well as the difference between left-handed and right-handed mechanisms. Students will learn how to make both single and double stem pin backs with corresponding catches and also learn how to make a converter that will easily allow brooches to be worn as pendants. The mechanisms that will be shared are simple and clean solutions that can easily be integrated into any design.

MarissaSaneholtzMarissa Saneholtz makes narrative based jewelry and objects using humor and sarcasm. After earning her degrees from Bowling Green State University and East Carolina University, she taught at several institutions including East Carolina University’s Italy Intensives Study Abroad Program in Certaldo, Italy and Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. For two years, she worked at J. Cotter Galleries and Studio in Vail, Colorado as gallery manager and assistant studio manager. Currently, she is teaching at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH.

Saneholtz has been published in several books, including Art Jewelry Today II edited by Jeffery Snyder, Humor in Craft by Brigitte Martin, and Narrative Jewelry: Tales from the Toolbox by Mark Fenn. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally and in the collections of the Dorothy McKenzie Price Permanent Collection at Bowling Green State University, the Racine Art Museum in Racine, WI, and the Enamel Arts Foundation, Los Angeles.

Refunds and Cancellations
Conference and workshop fees are refundable up to April 18, 2018 (less a 10% administrative fee); after April 18, 2018 the administrative fee increases to 25%. Workshop cancellation notification must be made in writing (email is preferable). Workshop fees will not be refunded after April 18, 2018 if the resulting vacancy cannot be filled.
