An Afternoon in the Studio of Amy Roper Lyons.

Master plique-å-jour enamelist, Amy Roper Lyons, is opening her private studio to members of EGNE for a tour of her personal workspace. She will then demonstrate the techniques involved in the demanding process of filling and firing a plique-å-jour piece.
A French term for “glimpse of day”, this is a vitreous enameling technique where the enamel is applied in cells, similar to cloisonné, but with no backing in the final product, so light can shine through the transparent or translucent enamel.
Light refreshments will be served.
