Course Description:
With nature as inspiration, we will create jewelry forms based on botanical elements such as leaves, petals, pods and flowers. We will then add color to our three-dimensional pieces using opaque and transparent enamels. A variety of forming techniques will be demonstrated, including fold forming and shell forming. Basic metalworking skills helpful, but all levels are welcome.

Kathryn Osgood is an Associate Professor, and head of the Professional Crafts Jewelry program at College of The Albemarle in Manteo, North Carolina. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree in metal and jewelry design from East Carolina University and her undergraduate degree in art from the University of Southern Maine. Her work has been featured in publications including The Art of Enameling, 500 Necklaces, 1000 Rings, The Art of Jewelry: Wood, Contemporary Enameling: Art and Techniques, and Metalsmith magazine. Kathryn’s work is included in private and public collections including the Gregg Museum, the Racine Art Museum, and The Enamel Arts Foundation.

Refunds and Cancellations
Conference and workshop fees are refundable up to April 18, 2017 (less a 10% administrative fee); after April 18, 2017 the administrative fee increases to 25%. Workshop cancellation notification must be made in writing (email is preferable). Workshop fees will not be refunded after April 18, 2017 if the resulting vacancy cannot be filled.
